SFB 1530 Double Feature: Talk by Luca Scorrano + Lymphoma Tech Meeting

SFB 1530 Seminar Series

It is a great pleasure to announce this collaboration between the CRCs 1218 and 1530 on the Life Science Campus  - #MITOChats: towards Therapeutic Targeting in Lymphoma - with our guest speaker Luca Scorrano.

Luca Scorrano is among the leading experts in the field of mitochondrial dynamics and its role in cell biology, disease and medicine. He addresses the central question of form-function relationship at the molecular level. His work on cristae remodeling paved the way for the new field of mitochondrial dynamics. In the following years, his lab discovered that Opa1 works as a molecular staple holding cristae junctions tight, deficient in dominant optic atrophy, targeted during apoptosis and essential in vivo to control tissue damage and to correct mitochondrial diseases. Who: Prof. Luca Scorrano, PhD MD, University of Padova; host: Lukas Frenzel MD

When: Tuesday, 17 December 2024 at 1:00 pm

Where: Max-Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing - Auditorium

Topic: Harnessing Mitochondrial Remodeling: From OPA1 Inhibitor Discovery to Overcoming Venetoclax Resistance

This is a hybrid seminar. Those who cannot attend in person can join via Zoom:

Afterwards: Lymphoma Tech Meeting - DLBCL Mouse Models

Are you an aspiring lymphoma researcher and interested in gaining practical knowledge? Join the Lymphoma Tech Meeting held by Dr. Gero Knittel, postdoc in the Lymphoma Lab, on murine DLBCL modelling. Update: the seminar will now take place at 3:30 pm and online!

The seminar will discuss the following aspects:

  • Pros and cons of different model types
  • Mouse model genetics
  • Mouse models of DLBCL
  • Colony management/breeding strategies
  • Regulatory aspects
